Not only were they, and their teachers, comfy in their pyjamas all day the 100 students managed to raise $211 in gold coin donations for the Need for Feed charity to support drought-stricken farmers in New South Wales.
“Our junior school council runs two fundraisers each term – usually one for the community and one for us – but they decided that farmers in NSW needed it more than us so instead of contributing to lines on our basketball court they decided to donate it to the farmers,” said teacher Deanna Osman.

They had already settled on a pyjama day fundraiser, which worked well with their new plans to support the farmers and Pyjamas for Farmers day was born.
“The JSC decided we need to help our neighbours, and had already decided on a pyjama day,” Ms Osman said.
Pyjamas for farmers comes on the back of other community campaigns for drought relief including Parma for a Farmer, Fiver for a Farmer and Let it Pour at pubs across the country.
