Old CDs and records have been transformed into a mural to disguise the side of a shipping container.
Every pupil created an artwork on at least one CD which was then given to artist in residence Max Darby to weave in to the large-scale mural of a tree that he created.
“It's been a whole-school project. We saw the shipping container sitting there and decided to make it beautiful, so that was our blank canvas,” said art teacher Teresa Skrypko.
The school has had a focus on sustainability this year, so using recycled materials to create the art was a priority.
More than 1000 CDs and albums were donated with parents, family members and pupils all invited to decorate a disc using outdoor paint and half a cotton bud.
“We have improved the aesthetics of our school and this is a symbol of looking after our environment. We can reuse and recycle to make beautiful things,” Ms Skrypko said.
