The evening of fine food, art auctions and performance at Craig’s Royal Hotel raised $16,900 for the Feed Ballarat Appeal.
The issues of food insecurity in Ballarat continue to grow. Each year over 12 per cent of the population rely on food service charities.
Every bit helps towards our goal.
- Matt Jenkins, Ballarat Foundation
Ballarat Foundation chief executive Matt Jenkins said the funds raised were testament to the generosity of the Ballarat community.
“Every bit helps towards our goal. But there is still an enormous amount of work to go,” he said.
“From a financial perspective, it is a nice contribution, but it also allowed us to have that conversation about food insecurity with 100 new people.”

Pieces of art donated by local artists were auctioned at the event. One piece sold for more than $3500.
More than 100 guests were treated to a four course meal and a performance by acapella cabaret group Ginger & Tonic.
