One year ago, Lachlan Pfeifer was the runner during the Central Highlands Football League senior grand final.
A few months earlier, he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and was forced to miss what would have been the biggest match of his career.
The Crows lost that game against Hepburn, but get another crack at ending the long premiership drought this Saturday against Buninyong.
And this time, Pfeifer will be in a Beaufort jumper.
“It was really tough watching last year, especially with how well the boys went,” the 21-year-old said.
“In the grand final, seeing how hard they battled throughout the day and not being able to be out there with them and trying your guts out – it was hard to watch.
“I was obviously spewing last year to miss out, but really glad I get an opportunity to play in one this week.”
Pfeifer has played all of his football at Beaufort and won a premiership with the Crows’ under-15 team back in season 2012.
