City finished second last on the table and coach Danny Gnjidic said the club quite simply had to improve across a range of areas.
“The message is, as a collective, we all need to get better. We’re done this year, we’ve been ok, we’re not satisfied with it.
“We’ve got to be stronger physically, we’ve got to be better with the ball.
“We’ve got to get a lot better in a lot of aspects...but the way they apply themselves and their attitude cannot be questioned.”
One of those aspects is its defensive structure. City conceded 56 goals for the season – two per game – and while it kicked a healthy 44 itself, it cannot afford to leak so many. On Saturday, Gnjidic was pleased with his team’s effort. A 1-0 half-time deficit became 2-1 in injury time before the Warriors scored in one of the final plays.
