Hilary Hazledine, will see her passion rewarded, when she travels to the Big Apple later this week to teach classes at the State University of New York.
“It was originally booked as a holiday, but I have a friend who is a professor in the theatre department,” she said.
“When he heard I was going, he asked if I could come and give a few classes. ”
Ms Hazledine said it was a dream come true to work with some of the world’s up and coming musical theatre performers.
She said it would be slightly different from teaching a ballet class.
“Not everyone wants to do ballet and you have to remember they are not there to become ballet dancers, they are there to become musical theatre performers,” she said.
“For many though, when they audition is will be in some way movement based, and because it is so competitive, this is about giving them the opportunity to become what would be seen as a triple threat.”
