But despite the speed of the winds, which peaked about 9pm, the SES was relatively quiet with just three call outs across Ballarat for assistance.
The biggest damage was to a property in Newtown which last some of its roof
State wide, it was different story with SES units kept busy with 57 call outs.
Ballarat had its highest temperature since April 23 on Tuesday with the gauge topping out at 21.7 degrees.
The cool change whipped through the region between 9pm and 9.30pm last night with the temperature plummeting three degrees in just 30 minutes.
This morning has struggled to reach double figures as we aim for a top of just 14 degrees.
However, the worst of the weather looks to have past for the time being with winds dropping and the forecast gradually increasing to 19 degrees by Friday.
Unfortunately though it won’t last with the weekend looking like a shocker with forecasts of just 11 on Saturday with up to 5mm predicted and 10 on Sunday with conditions gradually fining up early next week.
