Ballarat is fresh from a week off and for one of the only times this season, it will roll-out a full-strength team.
Coach LeRoy Hand said there was plenty of nervous energy around the group, but he welcomed that, saying that energy was required to produce the sort of intensity it will need to knock-off Warrnambool on Saturday.
“There’s plenty of nervous energy, we see that as very important, because that’s what brings that grand final intensity and without it you can’t rise to the occasion...but everybody’s got it in check at the moment,” Hand said.
Hand acknowledges handling the week off can sometimes be a tricky situation, but his group did not alter its routine.
An intense session on Wednesday night providing the ideal hit-out for the side ahead of the huge match.
Ballarat finished on top of the ladder at the end of the season and beat the Rangers 3-0 in the qualifying final.
Hand said controlling Warrnambool’s fast defence and strong midfield would be key and clearly limiting the influence of dominant striker Isabel Wilkinson.
