Ballarat was determined not to feel the same pain it felt last year.
Warrnambool broke the hearts of Ballarat in last year's semi-final, scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes to pinch it 3-2.
This time the teams met in the grand final of the Ballarat and District Soccer Association women's division one competition.
When the Rangers scored after 20 minutes through dominant force Isabela Wilkinson, it gave them a 1-0 half-time lead and those memories began to creep in.
But a stunning second half quickly made it a night to remember for the Ballarat girls.
At the break, coach LeRoy Hand changed the formation and the group spoke about having no regrets in 45 minutes time - and it certainly didn’t.
Two goals to Lily Fraser and one to sister Tayte set-up the 3-1 victory.
Coach Hand was immensely proud of his group.
"We knew going to into half-time that we needed a boost,” Hand said.
"The biggest message at half-time was about regrets, and the regrets we felt in 45 minutes time last year when Warrnambool knocked us out in the semi-final and we used that as motivation – we didn't want to feel like we did last year.”
