Now they’re reliving the excitement through the pupils in their classes as the school celebrates 40 years at its current site.
Ms Lawes took her prep, grade one and two pupils for a walk back to the old school on Yarrowee St, which is now home to the Sebastopol Historical Society.
Principal Michelle Wilson said there was strong “passion and community love” for the school with some current families having four generations attend the school.

On Monday, former pupils were invited back for a school tour and lunch as children put the final touches on their school concert which they will perform on Tuesday night.
The school’s current enrollment is just under 80, down from the more than 200 who made the move 40 years ago. Ms Wilson was hopeful the school would again grow as the demographic of Sebastopol changed with new homes and units being built.
