A 21-year-old Wendouree man, who was bailed on serious violence charges earlier this month, has had his case adjourned to the Ballarat Magistrate’s Court on 16 October.

Jake Quinton, who faces multiple charges including threats to kill, damage to property and assault, arising from violent incidents in July this year, appeared in court on Tuesday.
Police allege that on July 28, Quinton made threats to his partner, who at the time was 34 weeks pregnant to another man, including allegedly threatening to “drag her down the street while driving his car.”
Magistrate Ron Saines was told Quinton was ready to enter a plea but had requested an adjournment as he had to be in Geelong that day for a family violence matter and that his partner had just given birth.
“Court lists are not made to work around people’s appointments,” Mr Saines said, saying that court appointments needed to be kept because “the court’s time was valuable.”
Mr Saines granted the adjournment to 16 October and extended Quinton’s bail, reiterating that he must report at the Corio Police Station every day, abide by a curfew, comply with CISP and not drive a motor vehicle.
“There will be no further adjournments and don’t be late on that day,” Mr Saines said.
