Beaston had a disappointing time in charge of the Saints in 2018, with the senior side winning just one game while collecting the Central Highlands Football League wooden spoon.

But the club has kept the faith, reappointing the non-playing leader for next year.

Beaston answered the Saints’ call for a new coach in late 2016 and managed to win three games in his first year at the helm.

While Beaston has been retained, the Saints are on the lookout for a new playing assistant after parting ways with Luke Parker at the end of the season. Parker joined Carngham-Linton from Geelong Football League club North Shore and played 15 senior games throughout the 2018 campaign.

In other news at Carngham-Linton, Tom Sarah will remain in the reserves coaching position.

Sarah, who played 16 senior games last season, led the reserves to seven wins in 2018.

Carngham-Linton president Sam Richardson also revealed Greg Spratling had been secured as the club’s chairman of selectors.

Richardson said Spratling would also carry out some of the tasks usually completed by a football manager.

Carngham-Linton has not played in a senior finals series since joining the competition in 2011. The Saints’ best finishes came in 2013 and 2014 when they were 13^th.
