Passengers say the 5.10pm train from Southern Cross to Wendouree is already beyond ‘safe capacity’ and is continuing to stop at all stations.
“Canned sardines are considered free range in comparison to this train,” one commuter posted on Twitter.
A V/Line spokesperson confirmed the 5.10pm train was reduced to three carriages due to maintenance requirements after an ‘animal strike’, most likely hitting a kangaroo.
The spokesperson said other train lines may also be affected but could not confirm which lines.
