The Hawks confirmed on Wednesday that the former St Patrick’s College student and North Ballarat Rebels player would not be offered a spot on the senior list in 2019.
Willsmore played just two AFL games after being recruited to Hawthorn via the 2014 rookie draft.
He had to wait a few years to make his senior debut, but did so in round 10 of the 2017 campaign against Sydney at the SCG. Willsmore played his only other AFL match the following round against Port Adelaide.
At the conclusion of the 2017 season, Willsmore was delisted by the Hawks, but re-rookied for 2018.
On Wednesday, Hawthorn also revealed Jonathan O’Rourke and Kurt Heatherley would not be offered contracts for next year.
“On behalf of the club I would also like to extend our thanks to Dallas, Jonathan and Kurt for their contribution to Hawthorn,” Hawthorn general manager of football Graham Wright told the club’s website.
“Each of these young men has demonstrated great commitment to Hawthorn and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
Willsmore finished his time with Hawthorn on a high, winning the VFL grand final with the club’s affiliate side Box Hill on Sunday. Box Hill beat Casey Demons in the decider at Etihad Stadium by 10 points.
