A car being driven by a woman who is allegedly related to the case of Thomas Huby struck several journalists and camera operators at the side of the court about 1pm.
No-one was seriously injured.
A reporter at the scene said one cameraperson landed on the bonnet of the vehicle, while a Channel Ten journalist had her foot run over.
The driver of the vehicle abused the journalists for walking in front of her vehicle.
The incident took place as Huby was accompanied by his mother-in-law and another person passed the front of the stationary vehicle.
Huby has pleaded guilty to culpable driving, relating to a crash that resulted in the death of his four-year-old daughter Isabella in 2016.
He was driving along Remembrance Drive on April 23, 2016, when his car left the road and collided with a tree.
Huby, 26, was charged with six offences relating to the crash, including culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death and driving while drug impaired.
But at the County Court in Ballarat on Wednesday, Huby pleaded guilty to one count of culpable driving causing death on the basis of negligence.
A contested plea hearing was held to determine whether Huby was drug impaired at the time of driving and/or whether his fatigue was attributable to drug use as distinct from other causes of fatigue.
Judge Liz Gaynor said, based on the expert evidence, she did not know how the prosecution could prove drugs were the cause of the crash.
Huby will be sentenced in October and was released on bail.
More to come.
