Ballarat’s Minerdome was packed with some of country Victoria’s most talented juniors as Basketball Victoria Country’s Gold Nugget camp took place.
More than 250 players attended across the under-14 and 15 age-groups with the program dedicated to giving players in regional areas an opportunity to take their game as far as possible.
“It was a fantastic three days,” Nathan Cooper-Brown, who helped run the camp, said.
“It’s quite holistic, but the whole thing is – can these players represent Australia one day?”
20 boys and girls from each age-group are selected for the state development programs. Cooper-Brown added how important it was for Ballarat to host these events.
