And he has lured back Joel Antonio to help in the club’s bid for a return to the Central Highlands Football League finals.
Antonio left the Wickers to play for Ballarat in 2017 and 2018, but has agreed to a return for next season.
He will serve as a playing assistant to Knowles.
“He’s had a couple of years in Ballarat which is only going to benefit us,” Knowles said of Antonio.
“He will bring back a few things and add a bit to our midfield, which is what we need... a bit more depth.”
Antonio played a total of 32 senior games for the Swans throughout the last two seasons. Before leaving for the Ballarat Football League, he represented the CHFL at the statewide Community Championships.
Creswick has missed finals under Knowles during the past two years, finishing 12th with four wins and a draw in 2017 and 13th this year following four victories.
The Wickers last made a senior finals series under coach Len Watson in season 2013.
