The Ballarat Bolts restricted the Roosters to 9-119 from its allotted overs in the Women's Community Cricket North A twenty20 encounter.
Madeline Blake with the best figures of 2-13 while the Bolts were outstanding in the field, delivering four run outs. Ballarat had no trouble tracking down the score, surpassing the total with seven balls to spare and seven wickets up its sleeve.
Emily Sculley led the side to the maiden victory with an unbeaten 65 while Summer Dehnert made 24 as the pair put on a 99-run opening stand.
“The improvements in training from the first week until now is incredible,” Captain Jenna Fowlie said.
“It was really good to see it all come to fruition.
“We didn’t really have any idea what to expect.
“The message at the start was, it doesn’t matter if we win or lose...let’s go out and have fun and see what happens.”
