Central Wendouree won all three rink battles to prevail 74-52.

The Bears, which won a third-straight premiership last season, now prepare for a clash with Midlands Golf in round three.

Also on Monday, City Oval cruised to victory over Buninyong.

The Hawks, which were beaten in the grand final by Central Wendouree last season, scored a comprehensive 87-49 triumph.

The encounter between Clunes and Sebastopol was much closer.

Skippers Mark Vorbach and John Dellavedova both secured rink wins to help the Clunes side finish two shots clear.

Shayne Bottrell skippered the Kookaburras’ only rink success.

Elsewhere, Avenue backed up from its win over Central Wendouree by beating Smeaton.

The Bacchus Marsh-based club won 76-57.

And in the other game on Monday, Midlands Golf snuck home against Creswick by two shots, winning 78-76.
