Amelia had a great time writing with other like-minded students.

A typical day on Napier Street, Creswick
Napier Street, Creswick, 1892.
.
Dawn.
Dark shadows. Many birds chirp.
Wind rustles the leaves.
The church bell strikes 7.
.
Dawn. Midday.
People babble.
Horse’s hooves clatter. Brawls begin to launch. The church bell strikes
12.
.
Midday.
.
Dusk.
Branches sway. No more sunlight.
Shadows loom different directions.
The church bell strikes 8.
Day is now over. Let night bring
Another day.
Dusk.

1851
Life takes unexpected turns
While I wait and watch.
.
White termites wander,
Closing in on the natives,
Endangering them.
.
Watch closely and see
The damage that they will cause.
But what can we do?
.
History is said
To have been wonderful, yet I beg to differ.
.
Violence, death, scars.
Changed the future faster still
Through gun shots and wounds.
.
I can’t change it now. History is history. How I wish I could.
