The Sovereign Calisthenic College juniors team took out their second state title in two years despite moving up a level after last year’s win.
Competing against six other teams, Sovereign got five firsts and two seconds in the competition at Burwood. The 18 team members are aged 10 to 13 and train together once a week.
“This team have probably been dancing together for the past five years, and some would be clocking up almost 10 years of calisthenics,” said coach Lucy Quinlan.
Their competition season will wrap up when they compete in the Royal South Street Eisteddfod in about three weeks. RSS calisthenic competitions begin on Friday.
