The Daniher’s Drive rally begins in Melbourne on Thursday and hits the spa country later in the day.
Daniher, a former Essendon footballer and Melbourne coach, was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in 2013 and has grown into a campaigner for medical research.
Daniher’s Drive is a fun, community-based event that tours regional areas of Australia spreading the word and growing awareness about MND and the need to fund critical research in a quest to find a cure.
This year, a convoy of 100 cars will visit towns in both Victoria and South Australia.
High-profile football names such as David Neitz, Brad Green and Russell Robertson, as well as Daniher brothers Terry, Anthony and Chris, will be part of the four-day tour.
Daniher’s Drive will arrive in Daylesford at 12.15pm on Thursday, with lunch planned at the The Convent in Daly Street.
