The 11-year-old, whose parents volunteer with the Challenge Cancer Network and Cops and Kids Cancer Charity, decided to lose her locks after asking her parents where the hair for wigs for cancer patients came from.
Years of long hair came to an end in front of school mates last week when mum Ali Rodwell, teachers and students helped cut her hair.
While the initial cut was a little rough, Tegan and her mum headed straight to the hairdresser’s after school for a little more styling to Tegan’s new ‘do.
To support Tegan’s big haircut, fellow pupils from St Thomas More Primary School held a crazy hair day to help raise even more money for charity.
Tegan held months of fundraising events and sponsorship before finally having her hair cut on Friday, raising $1700 for the Variety Children’s Network and $510 for the Challenge Cancer Network.
