Belmont Speedway Drivers’ Club twice had race meetings programmed to mark the milestone early this year washed out.
The club is hoping for better luck at the opening meet of the season on Saturday, November 3.
As originally planned, the program will feature the inaugural running of the Bill Evans Speedcars Classic.
Redline was originally known as “Torana Park” and was iniitally owned and operated by Ken Light in the early 1960s.
The Marco family also ran it for a short time before the existing operator Belmont Speedway Drivers’ Club acquired the facility in the mid-1960s.
Bill Evans promoted racing at Redline from the late 1960s until to the mid-1970s.
Evans was instrumental in getting the Redline meets televised live to air.
The Victorian Speedcar Drivers Association has combined with Redline to present the “Bill Evans Classic”.
