Kings Will Dream heads the Ballarat master trainer’s hopes, with Night’s Watch and Gallic Chieftain making up the trio.
While Kings Will Dream and Night’s Watch safely made the field, Gallic Chieftain was the last horse to make cut for the field of 18.
Weir has finished fifth in the past two Caulfield Cups – Humidor last year and Real Love in 2016.
The Irish-bred Kings Will Dream, which is based at the Warrnambool arm of Weir's stable, earned a guaranteed start in the $5m Caulfield Cup, 2400m, by taking out the Mornington Cup in March.
That gave Kings Will Dream an unbeaten run of five in Australia.
While he is yet to win in four runs since, this campaign has been specifically mapped out with the Caulfield Cup in mind.
Kings Will Dream began the spring as favourite and remains $5.50 second favourite behind Chris Waller's Youngstar after a third in the Memsie Stakes, second in the Makybe Diva Stakes and third in the Turnbull Stakes - all group 1 events.
Night’s Watch ($11), which began his career in New Zealand, has been a big improver this spring - finishing third in the Feehan Stakes, winning the group 2 Naturalism and then running midfield in the Caulfield Stakes after settling near the back of the field.
Gallic Chieftain won this year's Warrnambool Cup before campaigning in Queensland in the winter.
The imported stayer has had just three starts since resuming, with a third in the JRA Cup and last-start fourth in the Herbert Power Stakes, when he worked home solidly late for fourth behind the highly impressive Yucatan at Caulfield on Saturday.
Six internationally-trained raiders, including top weight Best Solution, feature in the capacity field of 18.
Best Solution, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, will carry 57.5kg in his bid to claim a fourth successive victory after taking out the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket and back-to-back group 1s in Germany.
Aidan O’Brien’s The Cliffsofmoher, Japanese stayers Chestnut Coat (trained by Yoshito Yahagi) and Sole Impact (Hirofumi Toda), and UK visitors Duretto (Andrew Balding) and Red Verdon (Ed Dunlop) complete the set of runners from Racing Victoria’s Werribee International Horse Centre.
The barrier draw takes places on Wednesday.
