A council-owned 35 space car park in central Ballarat will not be sold.

The paid car park on Peel Street North, between Mair Street and Curtis Street, was listed as a surplus asset in a previous council agenda.
This listing was a preliminary step to potentially prepare an asset for sale.
Other assets listed in the agenda included the site of the now closed Mount Helen kindergarten, and the Kohinoor Community Centre on Errard Street.
The kindergarten was closed in 2016 as it became financially unviable, despite public outcry, while the community centre reportedly needed hundreds of thousands of dollars to restore it to a useable state.
In December, mayor Samantha McIntosh said council had not made any decision regarding the future of the centre, and alternative options would be considered.
There are 10 other parcels of land in the agenda, mostly vacant lots, in urban and rural areas in and around Ballarat.
A council spokeswoman confirmed the carpark was no longer on any list for sale.
There have been no further actions taken on any of the other locations either, she added.
The car park, which accesses an alley between Mair and Curtis streets, has no connection to the planned development at the Humffray Street State School site, which will have 22 car spaces for hotel guests.
The confirmation that the site will not be sold comes after council advertised its intention to sell the site of the childcare facility on Armstrong Street North.
As previously reported, the current centre is very close to the new GovHub development site, which will eventually house 1000 employees.
The current occasional care program will move to a purpose-built centre at the $1.25 million Girrabanya site in Steinfeld Street North, which will include a kindergarten.
