This will extend his tenure with the Kangaroos to four seasons after guiding them to their first Ballarat Football League flag this year.
Bridges’ reappointment furthers consolidates East Point, which has already re-signed all 22 premiership players.
It has also been on the front foot with recruiting, having already announced two major signings in CHFL best and fairest Joel Mahar (Bungaree), and former North Ballarat Roosters VFL-listed Billy Jones (Grovedale).
East Point president Gary Wilson said it was exciting to have Bridges staying on board.
He said Bridges initially took on the job for one year with an option for another, so locking him for another two provided real stability for the club.
Wilson said Bridges had developed a great rapport with the player group and this augured well for years ahead.
“It’s a close-knit bunch.”
Chris Banwell (non-playing) and Daniel Semmens (playing) will also continue on as senior assistant coaches.
East Point reserves coach Shane Darroch and under-19 coach Brad Whittaker have also been reappointed.
Wilson said while not ruling out more recruits, the club was pleased with its list status.
He said there had been interest from “one-pointers” – players who had started with the Kangaroos – in returning and each would be weighed up on their merits.
