The new 300 metre footpath will follow Stanley Street between the school and Main Street with works expected to get underway over the summer school holiday.
Buninyong MP Geoff Howard said construction is part of a $5 million road safety package near schools.
While in Gordon, Mr Howard also announced the Gordon Football Netball Club has secured new female-friendly sport facilities they need thanks to a grant through the Female Friendly Facilities Fund.
“Women and girls are signing up to play local sport in record numbers across Victoria, but many older sporting facilities haven’t provided suitable changerooms for them,” Mr Howard said.
“We’re changing that to ensure we have inclusive and accessible facilities for everyone that wants to play sport.
“The upgrades at Gordon Recreation Reserve will include construction of a second netball court with competition standard lighting, training standard lighting on the existing netball court and netball change facilities.
