I believe that we need to help Myanmar. They are trapped in the poverty cycle and they need our help. The poverty cycle is when someone doesn’t have enough money to get food, clean water and an education. When you’re trapped in the poverty cycle, you may not have a nice house because you don’t have enough money to pay the bills. Over 50 per cent of the kids in Myanmar don’t finish primary school and some don’t even have the chance to attend school.

We are raising money for the kids in Myanmar to be able to go to school. Some schools only go to grade 1. Not many children get to go to high school, so they do not a good education. Some families are trapped in the poverty cycle. We are raising money so they can break the poverty cycle because if they get educated their family will too and they’ll get better jobs. We are also making money to train teachers and build more grades at schools. Our money will also help lunch programs so kids can get better food. Our money will let more kids go to school.

My school is holding a Mission Day so we can raise money to educate people in Myanmar. The money we raise will go to Myanmar to build bigger schools to train more teachers, to help kids get nutritious food in lunch programs and grow vegetable gardens at school. I invite you to come and see.

This Friday, Lumen Christi will be holding a Mission Day to raise money for Myanmar to break the poverty cycle for at least a few families. Half of the children in Myanmar never finish primary school. But there is a school called St John’s which we are helping to make bigger since they only have one grade. We will be helping by raising money on Friday, October 26. We will also give our money to the lunch program at St John’s school, so that they can grow vegetables for the children to eat so that they can be healthy. If we can raise enough money we will be able to stop the poverty cycle for a few families.

People in Myanmar have been struggling with the poverty cycle. The poverty cycle is where mum is poor and has no money. They can’t afford to send their kids to school so that they can get a job, so then their kid is poor and it keeps going on. It is a fact that 50 per cent of children in Myanmar finish primary school. Some kids don’t even get to go to school at all. That’s why we are helping the people of Myanmar and breaking the cycle to educate more kids. We have a day at school called Mission Day, where everyone in the school has a group and they come up with a store. People buy stuff or play games and win something and then all the money we raise goes to Myanmar. To help support them to add more grades and to help buy some more supplies to help kids learn because every kid has a right to learn and have an education.

I believe that we should all raise money for Myanmar and that together we can break the poverty cycle. All the head people in Myanmar have made education number one and we are helping them. On Mission Day we are having stalls to collect the money we need to give to Myanmar. Every one in three kids has no access to healthy food so we are also supporting the lunch at school. Some kids go looking for a meal in the dumps. Some kids even have only one meal a day. Finally, some kids drink dirty water which is bad for health. This stops growth.

Lumen Christi school is raising money for Myanmar. The money we are raising will go towards building more schools and training more teachers. Pope Francis said: “Help do your bit. You don’t have to help everyone, but helping two people can make a difference.” We should help Myanmar as best we can.

Every child has a right to education. This Friday our school is having mission stalls. They are running from 9.30-10.30. We are raising money for Mayanmar because the children of Myanmar are not getting a good education and are struggling later in life to get a job. The money we raise will help train lore teachers and build more schools to help the children of Myanmar.
