Each time the walkers completed a lap they were doused with a different coloured cornflour amid squeals of delight and clouds of colour. PE teacher Kane Tolliday said the colour lapathon and twilight market was the “biggest day of the year” for the school community.
About 370 pupils took part in the lapathon, with other members of the school community including grandparents, siblings, parents and others deciding to join them and become a walking riot of colour.
Students had an allotted amount of time to complete as many laps of the outside of the school, about 500m, with one student managing 20 laps or 10km.
