The closest rink was four shots, with the other two one-sided affairs. But it was Buninyong that took the upper hand, winning 65 shots to 63, to show it is the real deal among the top four of the Ballarat District Bowls Division midweek pennant division one.
City Oval moved to the top of the ladder with a victory over third-placed Central Wendouree.
The top four tightened up after this week’s results, and City Oval’s 23-shot win was certainly more one-sided than anticipated.
Clunes chalked up its second victory of the season, comfortably accounting for bottom side Daylesford.
Both sides entered the clash with just one win to their names, but it was Clunes that enjoyed a 41-shot triumph, 82-41. Fifth and sixth-placed sides Creswick and Midlands Golf stayed in touch with the top four.
The top six has skipped clear following 23 and 22-shot wins over Sebastopol and Smeaton respectively.
