The wallaby was found yesterday down a four meter deep mine shaft in Invermay by a local prospector.
After around four hours he was rescued by a combined effort by SES, CFA and Five Freedoms Animal Rescue.
He was taken to the Hepburn Veterinary Clinic for emergency treatment and is now up and moving around again.
“He’s doing OK. He’s up and eating grass again,” Manfred Zabinskas from Five Freedoms Animal Rescue said.
Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery and is back in the while soon.
