Mother and daughter Simone and Sophie Byrne have captured a combined three titles in the Ballarat Golf Club championships.

Simone took out the women’s B grade championship, while 17-year-old Sophie put her name on the women’s club and junior honour boards.
Sophie, who had to interrupt her VCE exam studies to compete, defeated past champion Kate McMahon 4/3 in the match-play final to successfully defend her club championship title.
Their success continues a family tradition at Ballarat Golf Club.
Simone and Sophie are daughter and granddaughter of 26-time club champion Neil Titheridge.
Daniel Staples was the men’s club champion defeating Brad Dreher 6/5 in the final.
