Raising money to help vulnerable people access food, entries are still open for the run, on Sunday, November 18.
The event supports the Ballarat Foundation, which will help charities to establish programs to fight hunger and food insecurity, a worrying issue in Ballarat.
Companies like Mars are encouraging their employees to get involved in the run, with shift teams being entered.
Mars health and wellbeing manager Daniel Thek said the company was subsidising entry fees for the corporate team and their families.
He added there was also a pre-shift running group that met before work each day to exercise.
In previous years, more than 200 employees participated in Run Ballarat.
“Food security is something Mars has supported for some time through our involvement with Ballarat Uniting Care and the Soup Bus,” he said, adding the team was proud to support the community.
