Carlin has spent the past two seasons with Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the TAC Cup under-18 competition – this year representing Vic Country.
Lakers coach Dale Power said Carlin was a promising young talent.
“We have a good group of kids and Scott fits right on.”
Power said Carlin was also planning to pursue an opportunity in the VFL with Werribee Tigers.
Carlin has already had a taste of the VFL. He made his debut in the competition as 23rd man for Werribee this year, kicking two goals.
The teenage midfielder has been a boarder at St Patrick’s College for two years, and won the school’s first XVIII best and fairest in each year.
Carlin also represented Vic Country in under-16s and Victoria in under-15s.
He is the first new signing announced by Lake Wendouree, which begins pre-season training at Wendouree’s CE Brown Reserve next week.
ANOTHER former Rebel Jesse Palmer has re-signed with Carlton’s VFL side Northern Blues.
Palmer had East Point as his home club this year, but did not play a game in the BFL.
He kicked 27 goals for the Blues and was named at centre half forward in the VFL team of the year.
MELTON South’s Dylan Conway will make his professional boxing debut at Melbourne Pavilion next Saturday.
The Port Melbourne VFL key forward had the Panthers as his home club this year, kicking 20 goals in four appearances. His bout will be the second “Fight Night” card.
