Ballarat-based Merle Hathaway has curated the Art Meets Nature exhibition for the Wildlife Art Museum Australia which will be on display at Lucy McEachern Studio Gallery at Wingeel.
Artist Deb Sleeman lived the glamorous side of art last week – donning a wetsuit to remove her three steel boat sculptures from Lake Wendouree that were part of the Biennale of Australian Art – before moving them to a “sea of succulents” at the Wingeel property.
The exhibition brings together 26 artists whose work is inspired by nature and the environment, including glassworkers, printmakers, painters and bronze, crochet, paper and fibre artists.
Art Gallery of Ballarat director Louise Tegart will open the exhibition on November 16, with the exhibition open weekends from 10am to 5pm until November 25.
