Beare has been prominent in the class for more than a decade, having won the first of his four national titles in Alice Spring in 2006-07 and going on to win more than 20 state championships.

And his form on the Buininyong circuit has been as dominant as anywhere over the years.

The South Australian will face other past national champions Rhys Heinrich, Mark Jennings and Brad McClure in a quality line-up, which also includes Redline winner Jason Degoldi.

The “King of the Mountain” has attracted almost 50 entries, with the A main final to include 20 drivers.

The card also has two junior features  – the Piston Cup for junior sedans.

Darcy Wilson and Bella Rizzoli will fly the flag in the “All-Star” event against Ben Micallef (Warrnambool), Mitch Glynn (Avalon), Darcy Micallef (Warrnambool), Braidin Claridge (Swan Hill), Kasey Ferguson (Laang), Todd Moule (Drouin), Brad Gartner (South Australia), Jye Irving (Hamilton), Zoe Young (Nyora) and  Kasey Garlick (Alexandra)

The “New Star” race have Bailey Rumler, Cody Blomeley and Jaxson Vella representing Ballarat against Swan Hill’s Connor Claridge and Lachlan Bull.

VSC thunder sedans and unlimited sedans round out the program, with racing from 4.30pm.
