Country specialist Another Coldie headlines the quartet, which also includes Top Prospect, Master Zephyr and Lucky For All.
Weir’s racing manager Simon McCartin said the Ballarat Cup had been the main spring target for Lucky For All.
“He’s been set for it. This has always been going to be his grand final.”
A winner over 2000m at Caulfield two starts ago on October 17, Lucky For All was an unlucky last-start sixth at Flemington on Saturday when his saddle slipped under jockey John Allen.
Allen is again set to ride him in Ballarat if the four-year-olod gets a suitable weight.
Another Coldie is going to the Ballarat Cup as one of the most in-form gallopers on the country circuit.
The five-year-old has not put a foot out of place this preparation with victory in the Gold Nugget, 1600m, in Ballarat, Horsham Cup over 1800m and Kyneton Cup, 2000m.
McCartin said the 2200m of the Ballarat Cup was the only query for Another Coldie, which had never raced beyond 2000m.
Master Zephyr is already a cup winner this spring, having come from last to score at Hamilton.
He has since gone on to a fifth in the Geelong Cup and third in Sunday's Ararat Cup, with McCartin saying forecast rain would work favourably for him.
The New Zealand-bred Top Prospect joined the Weir stable earliet this year and scored at his latest start at Flemington on Saturday.
McCartin said Ararat Cup winner Andrea Mantegna, Snitzepeg and Pleasuring were other possible nominations from the stable.
NINE youngsters trialed at Sportsbest-Ballarat on Thursday to qualifying for the $200,000 Magic Millions 2yo Clockwise Classic, 1000m, on Ballarat Cup Day.
Ballarat Turf Club chief executive officer Lachlan McKenzie said 14 horses had now become eligible via trials in Ballarat.
The classic field is imited to 11 starters.
