The racing.com presenter and journalist rode horses as a youngster, but covering stories of the burgeoning Miners Rest racing precinct when she was living here and working at WIN reignited her love of racing.
Just this week on air, Ms Watts declared the Darren Weir-trained Another Coldie as the 2018 “country cups king” and she was thrilled to get acquainted with the racehorse on a visit to the Weir stables on Thursday where she was unveiled as the 2018 Ballarat Cup ambassador.

“To be able to see the cup this year, with this guy (Another Coldie) hopefully running, he’s probably the new number one horse for these country cups around Victoria,” she said.
“I think the Ballarat Cup is definitely one of the best races in the whole calendar … and it sits well with the metropolitan standard of racing,” she said.
The 2018 Sportsbet Ballarat Cup will be run on Saturday November 24.
