Hyatt, who only landed in the country shortly before Saturday's first grade Twenty20 clash, led Darley to an eight-wicket win over reigning premiers Golden Point.
He made an unbeaten 76 (56 balls) as the Lions easily chased down the Pointies' total of 8-118.
In the end, Darley finished on 2-121 from 18.4 overs.
The win was only the Lions' second of the season.
Elsewhere on Saturday, East Ballarat claimed victory in the top-of-the-table showdown with Mt Clear.
The Mounties made 5-116 from 20 overs before the Hawks chased down the total inside 17 overs and with six wickets in hand.
Lewis Hodgins top-scored for East Ballarat with 47.
The success leaves the Hawks six points clear at the top of the table.
Brown Hill produced a surprise by beating Wendouree at CE Brown Reserve.
The Bulls, led by Nathan Clarke's 48, made a formidable 3-152 batting first and held the Red Caps at bay despite 60 from Cole Roscholler. In the end, Wendouree was about 20 runs short of victory when its 20 overs were bowled.
North Ballarat was also victorious on Saturday, beating Napoleons-Sebastopol.
The Northies made 8-151 and then dismissed Naps-Sebas for 126.
Connor Miles made 56 for North, while Adam Eddy was the best of the bowlers with 2-9.
The round's other clash saw Buninyong secure a six-wicket triumph against Ballarat-Redan on Saturday night.
