BCH facilities coordinator Clare Bigarelli said the aim was to get clients, particularly youngsters, out and exploring the space while they might have a wait.
Ms Bigarelli said a youth program team from Ballarat Group Training had really taken on the concept and done an incredible job designing and building the new play area.
The BGT team worked on the project for two days a week since April.
Outgoing BCH chief executive officer Robyn Reeves officially opened the Sebastopol play space on Monday, to launch her final week after 14 years in the role.
“We’re very, very happy with the space,” Ms Reeves said.
“We’re excited the sun is out so kids can start using it straight away.”
