IT’S a long way from Jersey to Ballarat, in fact it’s even a long way from Sydney, but for the stars of Jersey Boys it was a trip worth making.

Ryan Gonzalez (Frankie), Cameron MacDonald (Tommy), Thomas McGuane (Bob) and Glaston Toft (Nick) made a whirlwind visit to Ballarat on Monday to promote the upcoming season at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. The quartet are currently performing in Sydney with another four weeks to go on the run.
For the cast, the four-time Tony Award winning musical is a dream come true.
Toft, who plays bass player Nick, has performed the role over 1500 times.
“I’ve done it since it first started in Melbourne in 2009, it’s been one hell of a ride,” he said. “There’s not a lot you can do 1500 times and that’s why I love doing it.”
MacDonald said the audience was never the same.
“For us it’s amazing that on a great night, in front of a packed house, possible the crowd has had a champagne before they came in, you feel like a rock star and you can’t replicate that.”
Jersey Boys is at the Regent Theatre from February 23. Tickets from Ticketmaster.
