Lee Dunbar appeared briefly at the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
His lawyer said Dunbar would not apply for bail today.
He said his client was withdrawing from the drug ice.
The details of the alleged incident at Wendouree on November 20 were not read to the court but charge sheets obtained by The Courier show Dunbar has been charged with eight offences.
They include carjacking, car theft using force on another person, assault with the intent to rob, making a threat to kill and possessing a dangerous article.
Dunbar also faces one count of possessing methylamphetamine.
He was remanded in custody until January.
