The Damascus College Year 8 student has been selected in the state 13/under team to contest the Federation Cup Foundation Interstate Challenge.
States and territies each send two girls and two boys to the tournament, which features singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
This is the second time O’Beirne has been selected in the team, having represented Victoria in Adelaide in 2017. She said she was honoured and excited with her selection.
O’Beirne, who is a member of the WestVic Academy of Sport, was part of the Central Highlands girls’ 13/under team which won the Judy Dalton Cup in Yarrawonga earlier this year.
This was the first time Central Highlands had won the Victorian inter-regional competition, in 18 years.
