Michaela Hogg (equestrian), Tasman Forest (archery), Nick Howard (gymnastics), Sophie Kurzman (lawn bowls), Shannon Burke (taekwondo) and Brad Saunders (skate boarding) were all recognised at the annual presentation.
Standardbred breeder and harness racing enthusiast, and Women’s Cancer Foundation – Ovarian Cancer Institute advocate Duncan McPherson was guest speaker.
The foundation raises funds and awareness for research ovarian and gynaecological cancers in Australia.
McPherson, who lost his wife to ovarian cancer, is a driving force behind the annual Australasia-wide “Team Teal” promotion, which features female trots drivers wearing foundation racing colours and teal pants.
