Lynch leaves the Panthers after two years in the Ballarat league.
He travelled from Coolangatta, where he lives and works, on a weekly basis to play with Melton South last season.
Lynch plans to continue his football career with his former club Coolangatta Tweed in the Queensland state league.
Melton South coach Heath Pritchard said Lynch made the move with the club’s best wishes.
“He’s been fantastic for us. He’s originally from Queensland and that’s now his home again.”
Lynch was the Panthers’s first major signing for 2017 after the arrival of Brendan Fevola.
He landed from Aberfeldie as an Essendon District Football League and Northern league best and fairest, and premiership player.
The dimunitive midfielder finished fifth in the 2017 BFL Henderson Medal and was named in the BFL team of the year.
Melton South, which began pre-season last week, is yet to announce any major recruits, but has re-signed a substantial of players including Dalen Hughton with the additional role of assistant coach, Daniel Leggett, Jake Charge, Mattheew Sullivan, Ben Sortino and Shaun White
