I would like to thank the community for supporting our pop-up IGA supermarket in the British Hotel while we prepare for Creswick’s brand new IGA supermarket at 48 Albert Street.
The range and stock levels are improving daily as we settle into our temporary premises. We have an excellent range of fresh produce, quality meat and chicken (barbecue chickens are back) and a great range of sliced meats and salads for summer. We also have a large range of Christmas cards decorations, lights, biscuits and cakes.
A lot of people put in a huge effort to ensure the British Hotel was fitted out in 15 days, and that the old store was swiftly gutted, cleaned and painted.
Our store manager Robert has worked tirelessly, and all of the staff have put in an enormous effort during a testing time, maintaining their commitment to providing excellent customer service.
I would also like to thank Hepburn Shire CEO Evan King and his team, who assisted us opening in record time – we were given the eviction notice on August 14 and commenced trading in the pop-up venue on October 25. We had great help from local tradies, both in preparing the new store and moving out of, cleaning and painting the old store.
Buggzy’s Electrical have been fantastic, from Nathan in the office understanding the urgency, to ‘Macka’ and the boys working around the clock to ensure we could trade. Jason from Paterson Home Maintenance has been great working on all the odd jobs in both the old and pop-up stores.
I would highly recommend John Cricelli for his painting services and Kane Sweet, who not only laid the concrete the day after I rang him, but also swung by with his Bobcat to level out and straighten up a few areas when urgently required to do so.
With the exception of NBN and Telstra, everyone has understood the time pressures we were under and have put in an amazing effort.
I would also like to thank the IGA team for their terrific support. Without, Adam, ‘Bucks’, ‘Robbo’ Johnny, Marc and Scott, we would not have been able to achieve what we did in such a short time. Heath and Daniel from ALM (IGA Liquor) lead by ‘Smitty’ were also a great help in moving our liquor section from one store to the next.
Again, a big thank you to those mentioned (apologies to those I have inadvertently missed) and to the local community, who continue to support the store during this short period of inconvenience.
If there is something we don’t have, please ask and we will endeavour to get it for you – we are actually quite surprised at the range we have been able to achieve.
