The professional cyclist spoke of his Ride to Remember, pedalling home from Uluru in September, and his efforts to raise awareness for younger onset dementia on his journey and particularly in Ballarat.
Locandro first started planning the ride to honour his dad Sam’s memory and say thank you to BHS dementia respite staff at Eyers House.
The ride raised more than $35,000 for dementia awareness, including a portion for Eyers House programs. Locandro also urged people to become dementia friends in a 15-minute online program.
BHS is hosting a week of celebrations to showcase staff innovation, determination and dedication in the community.
