If you see some fine fellas sporting half a moustache on Friday, their personal grooming has not gone awry. Their top lips will be at “half mo” on the last day of Movember to remember the men who are no longer here.

“The half mast flag represents those fallen in war and in battle, and the half mo is to represent fallen men who have lost their lives – to pay homage to them,” said Josh Cahir from Rewrite the Man Code.
The half-hair is also a prompt for conversations with other men about their health, and a final push for donations for the Movember Foundation which addresses men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
“The last couple of years I have personally experienced some mental health battles myself and that’s the reason I use this, and my men’s health group, to raise awareness and money.”
Rewrite the Man Code has raised about $6500 for Movember with a final fling at the Red Lion Hotel on Friday to raise the tally with $2 from the sale of each beer, and the proceeds of raffles and auctions to be donated.
“Our goal is to start 10,000 conversations, which is hard to measure, but I hope that the attention we get from doing it can start a few conversations, encourage blokes to be vulnerable and to put their hand up and say need help or go to a doctor.”
