Police are searching for a man following a major operation in Mount Clear last night.
The air wing and search dog units were deployed yesterday after multiple reports of a silver Holden sedan driving erratically and dangerously across Ballarat.
The offender was spotted driving along Geelong Road before abandoning his vehicle on Jones Avenue.
Police taped off Jones Avenue, running up the side of the college, for at least an hour yesterday evening with officers manning an abandoned car.
The offender remains on the run.

A MAJOR police operation took place near Damascus College in Mount Clear this evening.
Police taped off Jones Avenue, running up the side of the college, for at least an hour this evening with officers manning an abandoned car.
A small silver sedan had been left at the top of the street, at the corner of Geelong Road, next to the service lane. The car’s parker lights had been left on.
A police helicopter was in the air above Mount Clear.
The area was cleared and Jones Avenue was re-opened by 8pm.
Police were unable to comment.
